Panels approve bill to curb money laundering, terrorism

ISLAMABAD: The Senate standing committee on finance here on Wednesday approved unanimously the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Terrorism Financing Bill, 2009 to facilitate the government in improving its ranking in community of nations.
The committee met at the parliament house with Senator Ahmed Ali in the chair to conclude the discussion on the proposed bill and accord formal approval to the bill.
This approval was linked with a condition that the Finance Ministry and the committee will prepare proposed amendments in the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Terrorism Financing Act within a year to remove the harsh provisions of the ... View Details
